my brother got married today on the beach, in twenty minutes and in the sight of twenty people.

as the ministers (the bride’s parents) gave the sermon and carried forth the ceremony, the waves crashed upon the shore, washing out the proceeding to all but our small family.  we all huddled together to listen, brought closer into a wreath of intimacy, joy, and hope amongst the chaos of sea, sand, and sunbathers surrounding us.

that is a moment i will treasure for the rest of my life. and that is enough for right now.
